Update on Gerson (our church sponsored child in Haiti)
Many have asked about Gerson, our NHCC church sponsored child in Haiti. We have good news! We have received news from the International Child Care Ministries Department that Gerson survived the horrific earthquake in Haiti of January 12, 2010. Gerson writes, "I can't praise God enough for sparing my life. I love you so much. Thank you for your sponsorship to me." Continue to pray for Gerson and all those impacted by the earthquake.
Schedule of Christian Education Classes for August
There will be no Sunday School for Children or Teens during the month of August. Classes will resume on Sunday, September 12th. The Adult Class will continue to meet during the month of August with the exception of Sunday, August 15.
Life Groups
We are gearing up for our Life Groups (formerly called Small Groups) that will kick off this Fall. A variety of topics and issues will be offered. Life Groups usually meet once a week for no more than 90 minutes. At this time, we are looking for "host homes" where these groups will meet. Please sign up at the Information Table in the Foyer if you consider being a host home for one of these Life Groups. Call Bjorg DelBalso at 865-4268 if you have questions.

Angel Food Volunteers Needed
NHCC is the community host site for the Angel Food Program. Many in our community benefit from this program as it helps to buy a greater amount of food at significantly discounted prices. We are also grateful for a team of faithful volunteers who operate the program (e.g., take orders, pick-up the food items, sort and pack the boxes, input orders into the computer, etc.). We know that there are other home-bound individuals or individuals without transportation who would like to order food from the Angel Food Program. We could serve those individuals if we had a group of rotating volunteers who would be willing to deliver their box of food. Volunteers would need to be available on the third Saturday of each month from 9AM to 10AM to make deliveries in Walton. Volunteers would serve on a month to month rotation basis. Please contact Bunny Closs at 865-6814 if this is a service ministry that you would like to be a part of.
