The First Free Methodist Church of Walton, N.Y. (incorporated on March 4, 1898) was later renamed New Hope Community Church (August 30, 2001).

In earlier ministry years, prior to 1950, the Free Methodist Denomination imposed a time limit of three years a pastor could stay at any one church.
